The Bar Opening
Originally set to launch on Valentine’s Day, Beatbox Tavern officially opened its doors under single proprietorship on February 18, 2017, welcomed by a wave of supporters. From that night on, it quickly became the go-to spot for bar and party lovers, music enthusiasts, and night owls in Sorsogon City. The energy kept building—until things had to slow down during the pandemic.
A New Vision
Sometime in the summer of 2020, three visionary friends and entrepreneurs—J. Barshop, M. Bautista, and S. Christ—came together and decided it was time for a bold upgrade. They envisioned transforming the original bar into a multi-concept space: an upscale restaurant, a cozy coffee shop, and a vibrant bar—all under one roof.
The idea was to create a venue that could cater to event organizers, food hunters, coffee lovers, pastry and pizza fans, while offering a wide variety of drinks—from wines and beers to milkshakes, juices, and more.
The inspiration behind the upgrade? One of the founders had long struggled to find a good restaurant and café experience in the heart of Sorsogon City. So, they decided to build the place they had always been looking for on April 2021
The Birth of the Corporation
On December 3, 2021, Prime Beatbox Group Inc. was officially launched with a soft opening, marking a significant transformation in the Beatbox legacy. The event was graced by esteemed guests including Hon. Mayor Ester Hamor, Vice Governor Wowo Fortes, and several prominent figures from Sorsogon’s business, political, and creative communities.
While the corporation took on the trade name Beatbox Tavern, it is separate and distinct from the original sole proprietorship that previously carried the name. Notably, the original business used “Beat Box” as two words, whereas the incorporated entity uses “Beatbox” as a single word—signifying a fresh start, renewed energy, and a broader vision under a new legal identity.
In addition to Beatbox Tavern, the corporation also operates under another trade name: Tasza Bakes & Brew, a concept that caters to pastry lovers, coffee drinkers, and casual diners looking for something cozy and satisfying.
Since its soft launch, Prime Beatbox Group Inc. has grown into a vibrant and multi-concept destination in Sorsogon City—drawing in a wide mix of patrons. It has become a favorite spot for social media-worthy dining experiences, coffee and food discoveries, and event hosting for birthdays, meetings, and special occasions.
More than just a bar or café, it now stands as a dynamic lifestyle space, open from day to night, with an evolving menu, creative ambiance, and a commitment to creating memorable moments in the heart of the city.
